Friday Free-For-All: Ron Perlman Becomes Hellboy Again For The Day, Total Recall Looks Rad and Childish Gambino’s New Mixtape Is A Must Have

This edition of Free-For-All is going to be short and sweet as I frantically try to get everything in order for Comic-Con next week (spoiler alert: I’m stressed. However, I’m booking some things I’m pretty excited for and hoping it all goes to plan.) So boys and girls, dudes and duderinos, ladies and germs, here’s this week’s FRIDAY FREE-FOR-ALL!
Ron Perlman Dons The Hellboy Garb Once Again!
So Ron Perlman did something rather amazing this week and if you’re a cryer, I advise you not to keep reading because this is amazing. As you can see from the pictures below, Perlman dressed in the Hellboy attire one more time, but not for a sequel to the hugely popular films, but rather to surprise a cancer patient who’s only wish was to meet and become Hellboy for the day. You can read the full details below, I’d just like to point out the fact that Perlman sat in a make up chair for eight hours to make this boy’s dream come true and that’s beautiful.
In the past three weeks, Spectral Motion has been honored to host two wonderful Make-A-Wish children, Caleb and Zachary. Zachary loved his visit for two very special reasons. It was Zachary’s wish to meet Hellboy and also to become Hellboy. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation contacted Spectral Motion with this request, Mike thought it would be fantastic to have Ron Perlman reprise his role for the day. Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde) and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries for Zachary and his family and the entire Spectral crew to enjoy. Later in the day, Zachary was transformed into Hellboy with the assistance of makeup artists Lufeng Qu and Neil Winn. Both of the Make-A-Wish days were a complete thrill for the families of the children, as well as for the crew at Spectral Motion!
Total Recall Trailer Makes Me a Believer
I’m not a believer in Colin Farrell, he’s never impressed me. So naturally, when I heard he was starring in the Total Recall reboot, I was less than thrilled. However, after this trailer, I can say I’m now a believer in not only Farrell but this project as a whole. Not only does it look to stick fairly close to the source material, but the visuals are looking amazing.
Childish Gambino’s Newest Mixtape Does Not Disappoint
Donald Glover is a man of many talents. By the age of 23 he had won an Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series forthe third season of 30 Rock, then went on to act on Community, only to simultaneously create one of the best hip-hop albums of the past decade. The kid is amazing.
His latest mixtape called Royalty was released this week. It features a ton of cameos unlike his debut album, and he produced 90% of it. There are some notable features, but the highlight is definitely RZA of Wu Tang Clan and Tina Fey who makes her rap debut. Don’t pass this mixtape up.
